Introduction

Ocular’s reliable hardware has once again proven it’s value in large-scale public charging projects. To support residents without access to home charging, Sydney’s Inner West Council partnered with EVSE to expand public EV charging infrastructure across the community. As part of this initiative, the council installed 23 Ocular Dual Port Towers and one Ocular DC Titan.

This project highlights Inner West’s leadership in sustainable transport and showcases Ocular’s advanced charging hardware, engineered for durable and reliable performance in demanding public environments. The rollout highlights how robust, trade-friendly design can support councils and contractors in delivering scalable, future-ready charging networks.

Challenges

The council identified the need for publicly accessible EV chargers to support residents without access to home charging. The chargers needed to be reliable, capable of handling frequent use, and suitable for long-term operation in public environments. Another key challenge was integrating the new chargers into existing infrastructure while ensuring the local grid remained stable

The deployment of Ocular charging stations across the Inner West has delivered a practical, maintainable and future ready network with on site electricians reporting a smooth installation and commissioning process.
