To provide home EV charging users with a convenient and seamless charging experience, Ocular developed the EV Charging App. It is designed to make home EV charging more convenient, efficient, and user-friendly for everyday drivers.
Once the charging cable is plugged in, you can start or stop the charging process remotely via the EV charging app at any time and from anywhere.
As long as the charger and your phone are both connected to the internet, you’re in full control. You’ll find this function is perfect, especially when you encounter bad weather or just don’t feel like going out to the car late at night.
If you prefer charging at off-peak hours – for example, after 10 p.m. when electricity is cheaper – just set a start time in the app. Additionally, charging schedules can be set based on the charging current and the battery’s state of charge. You can also enable repeat schedules, so your charger automatically starts at that time every day once plugged in. This customised setting mode can save you time and money.
You can check the live charging data, including charging power, current, and duration, on the Ocular App. If you have solar panels at home, it’s also helpful for monitoring how energy is being used in real-time.
Easily view your charging history and total energy usage over 7, 30, or 90 days – or even up to one year. This function helps track habits and estimate your EV-related power costs.
Ocular EV charging app enables multiple family members to share one charger. Furthermore, one user can also manage multiple devices (e.g., home and vacation house chargers) under the same account.
Some users install chargers in shared areas (e.g. Basement Garage). So they may be concerned about unauthorised use and electricity safety. Using an RFID card for home EV charging enhances security and control. With Ocular, people can easily bind or unbind cards through the app for secure and flexible control.
Users can switch between Home Mode and Company Mode depending on how the charger is used:
Home Mode: All invited users can freely schedule and use the EV charger.
Company Mode: Charging data is linked to each individual user. Users can reserve time slots (e.g., 2-hour sessions) to avoid overlaps. Ideal for families, shared parking spaces, or office environments.
